Know the 9 to Avoid a Crime: trade crossword
Idea + Design + Instructional Design
Learning Objective (outcome-oriented goal or purpose for creating the course):
Trade restriction and enforcement increase significant risk to Dell Technologies and can result in large fines or penalties and unquantifiable damage to our brand.
Learning Outcomes (what Learner is intended to be able to do after completing the course):
Learner will learn the 9 restricted territories Dell Technologies does not do business with customers and vendors in. Learner will understand resources available when questions arise and how to report concerns.
Scope: Design a responsive HTML5 interaction that takes 5-10 min to complete that would be placed with a company wide communication from the Chief Ethics Officer. Provide a feedback mechanism for audience.
The Pitch: Instead of creating a course, I recommended this game and humorous questions that would decrease learner fatigue.
Design Process: Meet Trade Team to map out their goals. Write questions. Arrange layout of location names. Design all graphics compliant within brand guidelines. Build crossword in Articulate 360 using layers and variables. Test and launch. Because Dell adheres to a strict Location Naming Conventions (see Location Naming Convention microburst and/or Location Naming Convention job aide) no Location’s (Countries’) flags are permitted. The design solution was to use locations on a globe marked with red 3D thumbtacks.
Tools: MS Word, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Articulate Storyline, Articulate Review 360.
